Dev Log 001 - “Do something you love."

General consensus is:

“Do something you love.”

This seems like sound advice.

Unfortunately, I love MMOs.

I miss that feeling they used to give me: running home after school, firing up ol’ Bessy, and disappearing into a fantasy world, wondering what adventures were waiting for me.

Whether through disappointing design trends, incalculable corporate greed, or some un-scratchable nostalgic itch, modern MMOs just don’t quite tickle my fancy.

And so, I have come to the questionable decision to forego a normal hobby and instead channel my midlife crisis into building one.

So, I present to you...

At the moment, Shardlands is mostly a collection of ideas, systems, experiments, and an increasingly unreasonable list of things that apparently “would be cool.”

There is much to be done.

This may take a while.
